Fuzzy Wuzzy was the term used by British colonial soldiers for the nineteenth century Hadendoa warriors supporting the Sudanese Mahdi. Fuzzy Wuzzies are remembered today primarily for a popular English children's rhyme, and for a poem by Rudyard Kipling.

The nine species of bear are distributed across the Northern Hemisphere. They live alone, except when raising cubs. Bears sleep through the winter in dens. They are not true hibernators though, and often wake up during warm spells. The American black bear is usually timid, but when it becomes used to people in National Parks, it can hurt them when looking for food.
