About Geckos

Geckos have two transparent eyelids which are permanently fused together. They cannot blink but use their spoon like tongues to frequently clean their eyelids.

Geckos shed their skins (which are made of small scales) – every six weeks or so in warmer weather.

A gecko can detach it’s tail if caught by a predator, although the green tree dwelling geckos are more reluctant to do this than other geckos because they use their tail for climbing.

Geckos tend to live alone and are very territorial. They raise up and open their mouths to scare away intruders.

Unlike other reptiles Geckos have a range of vocal sounds from chirping and chattering through to a loud croaking sound.

Geckos have superb grasping abilities and some tropical gecko are even able to walk upside down across a ceiling.

#2258 IGUANA

This beautiful green Iguana puppet makes a perfect pet for lizard lovers. Versatile and realistic, you can animate his forked tongue, jaws and front feet. His soft, scaly textured body is fun to touch and will never shed! This Hand Puppet is 32 inches long.

Full-grown green iguanas are usually between four and six feet, although they have been known to grow up to seven feet long. This includes the tail, however, which can make up about half the body length and, in addition to its green color, has black stripes. Green iguanas, not surprisingly, are green in color, but can be found in many different shade ranging from bright green, to a dull, grayish-green. Their skin is rough, with a set of pointy scales along the iguana's back. Green iguanas have long fingers and claws to help them climb and grasp. This Hand Puppet is 38 inches long.

The Marine Iguana (Amblyrhynchus cristatus) is an iguana that has the unique ability among modern lizards to live and forage in the sea. It is found only on the Galapagos Islands, but has spread to all the islands in the archipelago, and is sometimes called the "Galapagos marine iguana". It mainly lives on the rocky Galapagos shore, but can also be spotted in marshes and mangrove beaches. This Hand Puppet is 34 inches long.
